Discover the long history and beautiful walks of the port city of Gijon
Although, at first glance, the city of Gijón may seem duller than other cities in Spain, it actually has a long history and beautiful walks. We have prepared a short list of must-sees when you come to visit Gijón!
Starting with the Plaza del Marqués, a square steeped in rich history and overflowing with local culture. It is surrounded by museums, history, and is the gateway to the old streets of the city. You will find a sculpture and fountain that is 134 years old, in honor of Carlos Menéndez Valdés.
The Roman Baths
The entry to this museum on the Roman baths is free and will allow you, through a small underground circuit, to learn more about the history of the city and the Roman inhabitants of the time.
